Let's talk IELTS. First thing you need to know: getting a good score is not that hard. Just follow my tips!

To maximize your overall score, it’s important to focus on the listening and reading sections, as these are scored objectively, while speaking and writing are human-evaluated and often harder to score highly in. I scored a 9 in listening and an 8.5 in reading, which helped boost my overall score to an 8, even though my speaking (7.5) and writing (7) scores were a bit lower. So, strong reading and listening scores can make a big difference!

Listening and Reading

All you need for a good score in listening and reading is practice. The IELTS Academic with Answers textbook is the only practice material you’ll need. I used a free PDF of the book, which you can find on LibGen!

Speaking and Writing

Since the speaking part is interactive, you can book a free online practice session with me to improve your skills! Another helpful strategy is to watch YouTube videos of band 9, 8, and 7 speakers to observe how they structure their sentences. For writing practice, I recommend using the website Write & Improve. You’ll also find plenty of YouTube videos from exam markers that highlight common mistakes to avoid and tips for a strong writing score. Remember, IELTS success is all about understanding the format!

Here is a 10 minute section from the mock speaking test we did with Begum!
